Why Leadership Matters
at Teresa’s House

Our Difference:

Exceptional Leadership & Care Team

Leadership is everything in senior care.  Our commitment is truly getting to know our caregivers, our residents and their families.  You need people who can select and keep the very best workforce.  Because at the end of the day, the quality of the caregiver is everything and that comes from leadership.

Teresa’s House is unique and special.  Godwin and Teresa have a combined 60-year history of experience in the DFW metroplex.  They’ve seen what works and what doesn’t.  Through years of experience and research of best practices in senior care, they’ve seen that a small intimate setting combines the best aspects for seniors to thrive.

Both Teresa and Godwin have been recognized by local and national media.  Their leadership in the industry enables Teresa’s House to attract top talent.  Our residents benefit from an extensively trained staff and proven research-based program, which is the foundation of our exceptional care.

Why does care with 24/7 licensed nurses and state certified staff make a difference?

Peace of Mind

Many assisted living and memory care centers are not adequately staffed and seniors suffer as a consequence.  Many senior care communities don’t have licensed nurses after hours and certainly not nights.  If a senior has a problem or falls after hours, there is no licensed staff member to evaluate them and ensure their illness or injuries are promptly and appropriately cared for.  In addition, medication errors are widespread in assisted living communities where state certified medication assistants are not mandatory.  Licensed/certified/degreed staff cost more to hire, which is why few centers have them.

At Teresa’s House, not only do we have qualified staff, our smaller intimate setting allows them to provide more attention and ensure residents are competently and well cared for 24/7.

Training & Education Matter

Why do licensure, state certification and advanced degrees make such a difference in the quality of care for our residents?  Nurses are trained to observe and assess our residents looking for signs of dehydration, medication side effects or anything else that may be a concern.  With consistent monitoring, we strive to catch issues before they become a problem for your loved one.

State certification means caregivers are not only thoroughly trained, but they’ve also been tested to ensure they’re qualified to provide excellent care.
